HSCI ICCP anodes | ASTM A518 Grade 3 option | Global project RFQs
High-Silicon Cast-Iron Anodes & Deep-Well Groundbed Components
Specify the anode body, cable connection, environmental seal, coke backfill and deep-well components as one controlled supply package.
CathPro reviews the required material standard, anode configuration, groundbed data, cable, inspection and document scope before quotation.
- Tubular / Solid / Canistered
- ASTM A518 Grade 3 option
- Cable and sealing options
- Project document support
Product visuals are representative concept studies. Final material grade, construction, dimensions and inspection scope are controlled by the confirmed quotation, approved drawing and order documents.

Each interface is defined by the approved project documents.
Resistance, output, spacing and life depend on site and system inputs.
The complete current path
A groundbed is only as reliable as its weakest electrical interface.
Correct casting chemistry alone does not make a reliable groundbed. Connection resistance, sealing, cable insulation, coke contact, venting, installation geometry and soil resistivity all influence system performance.
Our quotations separate certified product data, verified assembly features and project-calculated groundbed performance.
Select the supply configuration
Start with the physical product the project actually needs.
Dimensions and performance are not copied from a generic catalogue. They are defined from the RFQ, drawing, replacement requirement and approved project documents.
Bare Tubular HSCI Anode
Tubular geometry with order-defined OD, ID, length, mass, cable exit and inspection scope.
Request this configuration →Solid HSCI Anode
Solid casting configuration for drawing-defined projects, replacement requirements and customer-specified dimensions.
Request this configuration →Canistered HSCI Anode
HSCI anode centered in a steel canister with order-defined coke backfill, cable, handling arrangement and package data.
Request this configuration →Deep-Well Components
Project-scoped anodes, individual leads and specified vent, support, wellhead and junction-box options.

Closed canister assembly
See the complete supply form—not only the internal anode.
The HSCI element and specified coke backfill are enclosed by the canister. Canister material, dimensions, fill mass, handling point and cable arrangement are confirmed in the project drawing and BOM.
HSCI casting detail
Distinguish the anode body from the bright outer canister.
The dark tubular casting is the current-discharging HSCI element. OD, ID, wall section, length, mass, material grade and acceptance criteria remain drawing- and order-controlled.
Control the failure points
The interfaces deserve the same attention as the casting.
A correct material grade can still fail early when current transfer, sealing, cable integrity or coke contact is poorly defined.
Anode body
Material standard and grade, chemistry, dimensions, mass, visual condition and heat or lot identification.
Anode-to-cable connection
Order-defined connection design with continuity or connection-resistance inspection according to the agreed ITP.
Environmental seal
Controlled sealing and strain-relief arrangement intended to protect the connection during handling, installation and service.
Cable system
Specified conductor size, insulation combination, length, identification, exit position and termination arrangement.
Canister and coke
Canister construction, coke type, particle requirements, fill mass, density, centralization and handling data defined by the order.

Deep-well groundbed scope
A deep-well groundbed is more than an anode string.
Reliability depends on the complete current-discharge path and installation environment. The supply boundary should define every component and every project-calculated value separately.
- HSCI anodes and individual cable leads
- Canistered units and specified coke backfill
- Vent pipe and filtration arrangement
- Support arrangement, restraints and bottom weight
- Wellhead interface components
- Anode junction box and shunt options
- Project GA drawing and BOM
- Installation sequence and inspection scope

Standards by scope
Different standards control different layers.
Listing a standard is not a certification claim. The quotation and purchase order must state the required edition, clauses, tests and evidence.
| Reference | What it controls | Correct application |
|---|---|---|
| ASTM A518/A518M-99(2022) Grade 3 | High-silicon iron casting material. | Anode-body material can be quoted to Grade 3 when specified and certified for the order. |
| BS 1591:1975 | Corrosion-resisting high-silicon iron castings, including CP anodes. | Alternative anode-body specification when required and supported by documented compliance. |
| GB/T 8491 Applicable edition | High-silicon corrosion-resistant iron castings. | The applicable edition is stated in the quotation and order documents; it is not automatically equivalent to ASTM or BS. |
| ISO 15589-1:2026 | On-land pipeline CP system lifecycle. | System design, equipment, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance reference. |
| NACE SP0169-2024 | External corrosion control for underground or submerged metallic piping. | General system and protection-practice reference. |
| NACE SP0572-2024 | Impressed-current deep-anode systems. | Deep-well design, installation, operation and maintenance reference; not an HSCI material grade. |
Material standard (anode body): ASTM A518/A518M-99(2022), Grade 3, when ordered and certified. System design references: ISO 15589-1:2026, NACE SP0169-2024 and NACE SP0572-2024, as applicable. System compliance depends on project design, installation, commissioning and operating conditions.

Technical questions
Clarify the product boundary before quotation.
These answers separate the HSCI casting from the cable, packaged assembly and complete groundbed system.
Can CathPro quote ASTM A518/A518M Grade 3 HSCI anodes?
Grade 3 can be quoted when it is identified in the RFQ and confirmed in the quotation. Material compliance applies to the anode body. Cable, connection, seal, canister and groundbed components are controlled by separate order requirements.
Does ISO 15589-1 or NACE SP0572 certify the anode?
No. These documents address CP systems and deep-anode groundbeds. They are design and application references, not standalone product certifications for an HSCI casting.
What determines groundbed resistance and design life?
Soil-resistivity profile, borehole geometry, coke column, anode spacing, operating current, consumption assumptions, cable integrity, venting, installation and operating conditions all affect the result.
Can you quote a replacement for an existing HSCI anode?
Send the existing drawing, model, dimensions, material requirement, cable details and required documents. Similar external dimensions do not automatically make two anodes technically interchangeable.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Send the product form, required material standard, dimensions or drawing, quantity, application, cable requirement, inspection documents, destination and requested delivery date. For a deep-well package, also provide the available borehole and design data.
Can inspection and third-party witnessing be included?
Inspection points, methods, acceptance criteria and third-party witnessing can be reviewed and confirmed before quotation. Availability depends on the agreed order scope.
Technical RFQ
Send the data that controls your quotation.
Have a BOQ, drawing or client specification? Upload it. Still in design? Send the application and available groundbed inputs; we will identify the missing quotation data.
- We review the technical completeness of your RFQ.
- We identify missing configuration or project data.
- We confirm the supply, inspection and document scope before quotation.
